Housing & Council Tax Benefit

What's New?

Tax Credits and Pension Credits:

* Tax Credits start from April 2003

* Pension Credits start from October 2003

Tax credits are a new form of financial support for an estimated 6 million families nationally. They replace Working Family Tax Credit, Disabled Person's Tax Credit and Children's Tax Credit. These awards end in April 2003. If you are currently receiving one you will move on to Tax Credit.

The Tax Credit office will be writing to you in January 2003. Please ensure that you pass details of your tax credit award to the Housing Benefit Office at Millmead House. 01483 444884

Pension Credit is the next phase in the Government's strategy for reforming pension provision. It will replace Minimum Income Guarantee, delivered through Income Support for people aged 60 and over.
