Arts Development

The role of arts development in any community is to develop awareness, participation and appreciation of the arts. In practical terms arts development should be looked at as a resource for information regarding arts events, funding procedures, local and national arts organisations, specific art form questions and management of arts events including festivals. The Arts development role is also to enhance existing provision plus encouraging new and innovative work.

This work is carried out with input from many different partners. These include local organisations, societies, businesses, the Regional Arts Board, professional arts groups and individual artists to name but a few.

The term arts refers to all art forms including visual, performance and multimedia.
