Renovation Grants
Did you know that Guildford Borough gives a range of grants every year to eligible owners and tenants and can put you in touch with other agencies providing similar cash grants where it cannot help directly.
Current policy targets assistance towards:
| 1 | Mandatory adaptations for the disabled. |
| 2 | Minor Works Grants to persons over the age of 60. |
| 3 | Fire precautions in respect of Houses in Multiple Occupation where a statutory notice has been served. |
| 4 | Works to tackle houses unfit for human habitation |
| 5 | Affordable Warmth Initiatives. |
| 6 | Works to bring long term empty properties back into use. |
Eligibility
to Apply
This varies between the various grant types ranging from those that simply
require the applicant to be in receipt of an existing means tested benefit,
through to those that require individual testing of an applicant's resources.
Landlords eligibility is based upon rental income from the property. Rules
are complex and special conditions may apply.
Amount
of Grant
This depends upon the type of grant but will not normally exceed £10,000.
