Oxford
Terrace – Mini Environmental Improvement
Engineering
Services was asked by Gleeson Homes to oversee the project management
and site supervision for this scheme. The scheme involved removing
the existing footpath surface in Oxford Terrace and constructing
a dwarf brick wall, designing foundations around the services, installing
brick steps using Marshalls ‘Nori’ pavers and reconstructing the
ramp to improve the gradient. In addition an artist designed railing
(commissioned by GBC Arts Development Officer) was supplied and
installed to tie in with the dwarf wall.
This
scheme required several different parties all working together and
Engineering Services co-ordinated the needs and views of the client,
design consultant, contractor and railing manufacturer.
The
scheme started on 17th July 2001 and the main works were
finished on Friday 17th August, with the railings installed
at a later date.
