Drummond
Brothers of Rydes Hill, Guildford was one of the most prominent
lathe makers in the country. This exhibition will trace the
history of the firm from its beginnings in the early 20th
century until its final closure. Several working machine tools
will be on display, together with photographs and memorabilia
of the firm.

THE WEY

Presented
by Guildford Museum, this exhibition has been arranged to
celebrate the 350th anniversary of the Wey Navigation, by
looking at the River Wey before 1653. It will explore how
the river has changed over the years, how it was used and
how it affected the people of Surrey. The main exhibit will
be the 11 foot long medieval log boat, used for everyday fetching
and carrying, discovered in the River Wey. Timbers from the
medieval waterfront, discovered at Guildford in 1993, will
also be on display.

Tudor history comes to life.
Fun and entertainment for all the family. Following a horseback
procession down Guildford High Street, Queen Elizabeth I
opens the proceedings: falconry, puppet shows, music, dancing
and much more. The Tudor Time Travellers entertain with
songs and displays of traditional skills. Tudor bowls, cricket
matches, acting and storytelling. Traditional stalls and
Tudor souvenirs. Prizes for best-dressed Tudor children.
